The Irish Wildlife Trust conducts projects each year that are funded by many heritage and environmental fund sources, our members and the general public’s generous donations. Many of our projects encourage public participation and endeavour to create greater awareness of wildlife and conservation issues in Ireland. National Lizards Survey
Lizard Sightings Wanted! The Irish Wildlife Trust is conducting a survey collecting data from the public of sightings of the Common Lizard in Ireland. SAC Watch This is a project to provide training and information to possible site monitors of Special Areas of Conservation in order to reduce damage occurring to these sites. Check out when the workshops will be held. Limestone Pavement Conservation This is an awareness campaign to stop the stripping of Irish limestone pavement for garden and landscape markets. These water worn rocks are being removed for rockeries and boundary walls. This action is destroying this wonderful habitat. IWT Exhibitions The Irish Wildlife Trust have held several poster exhibitions in ENFO in the past few years such as Life in a Shell (exhibition of the different shells found on Ireland’s beaches), Ireland’s Marine Expo (looks at our marine wildlife and habitats) and Our Limestone Landscapes (Joint exhibition with EHS Northern Ireland to highlight our limestone landscapes and pavement and their conservation issues). You can borrow the travelling exhibitions from ENFO, St Andrew’s Street, Dublin 1.
