Discover and Learn about Ireland’s wildlife by inviting an Irish Wildlife Trust Facilitator to visit your school.

The Irish Wildlife Trust will provide a visual and interactive workshop to the children developing their knowledge of Ireland’s wildlife and understanding the world of Ireland’s plants and animals. The workshop includes a visual presentation and activities.

The Wild for Nature programme can be tailored to your needs to incorporate your local heritage, biodiversity and ecology modules, or global citizenship and litter and waste.

Cost: €200 (depending on your requirements) *** NOTICE: We are not currently conducting School or Community Workshops ***

Visit Details: The facilitator will provide 3 workshops with 3 different groups/classes in your school. The programme is available and can be adapted to Primary and Secondary Schools.

Workshop Duration:

Approx. 1 hour from 1st to 6th Class
Approx. 30 minutes, a tailored down programme for Infant Classes and could fit more workshops into the full day (Max 6 workshops for Junior Schools). The facilitator will provide a colouring page for a further activity after the workshop.
Approx. 40 min – 1hr for Secondary Schools.
Approx. 1 hour for Community Groups.

Field Trip Option: The IWT facilitator can provide a guided tour of a local natural heritage site and on-site activities. If you would like to avail of this option, please discuss details with the IWT facilitator e.g. one group with one workshop and a field trip.

Primary Curriculum Links: SESE: Science – Strand: Living Things, Geography – Strand: Natural Environment, History – Strand: Local Heritage.
